Our proposal

Our proposal

We have thought about a class dynamics to improve the students behaviour in class and motivate them, so we are using the type of gamification to change behaviours. This class dynamics will be developed along the whole year.

Students can get or lose points depending on their results and behaviors in class. For example, the students may lose points if they have a negative behavior in class, like bothering their classmates, arriving late to classes or if they do not complete the tasks that are given. On the other hand, if they have positive attitudes, such as answering correctly the questions asked by the teacher or being in solidarity with their classmates, they can acquire points. The student as he acquires or loses points, he will go up or down in level. If the student goes up on the level he/she will acquire some real privileges. For example, the possibility of asking a question to the teacher during the exam, or going out to the playtime 5 minutes before, or extending the delivery of a project one day.
When they get 10 points they will reach the following level and get the correspondent privilege or reward.

The levels and its privileges would be the following ones

Level 1. Being able to change their place in class during that day.
Level 2.  Leave the classroom 5 min before the playtime.
Level 3. Being able to choose the content that will be taught in class during a day.
Level 4. To be allowed to do only half of the homework given by the teacher.
Level 5. To be able to share their previous privilege with other classmate.
Level 6. To have one more day to turn in some work.
Level 7.To be the teacher assistan for one day.
Level 8. To be able to check one question during the exam.
Level 9. The student will know one question of the exam.

Losing points

  1. Bothering his classmates
  2. Not paying attention in class
  3. Arriving late to class
  4. Not doing the homework requested by the teacher
  5. Not to be respectful with the teacher.
  6. To make fun of other classmate.
  7. To fight with the other children of the class.
  8. To speak without respecting their speaking time
  9. To shout in class.

Winning points:
  1. Have the homework done
  2. Say the correct answer
  3. Help another student
  4. Work in class quietly
  5. Being respectful with the classmates and the teacher
  6. Having a good attitude in class.
  7. To get good scores at the activities and tests.

OBJECTIVES

  • To motivate students to improve their performance in class.
  • To get the students to take the decision of behaving correctly in and outside the classroom.
  • To improve the results and the performance level of the students since they will receive continuous feedback.
  • To make the students feel valued by their behaviour and attitudes.
  • To improve the level of the whole classroom since they are going to increase their performance level by the activities and behaviours proposed.
  • To increase the level of attention of the students.

COMPETENCES

  • Learn to learn competence
  • Social and Civic competence
  • Sense of initiative and entrepreneurship competence
  • Mathematical competence

METHODOLOGY

In this proposal it will be observed the capacity of students to behave in class. It will be evaluated the initiative and acquisition of a positive attitude and the capacity to make decisions by their own.
It will be taken into account how they are progressing each time in a more autonomous way and their capacity to pay attention to the others, to receive the message and to follow the rules.
We will use the cooperative learning and the token economy, so they will win points as soon as they behave in a correct way.
We have thought a way to improve the motivation of children in class and their spirit to continue learning new thing and helping their classmates. We have thought an idea to get it and we have written own objectives in order to get it.
In this proposal children are going to focus on the competences of learn to learn competence because they are going to learn new things by their own, social and civic competence behaving in a better way with their classmates and in class, sense of initiative and entrepreneurship competence as soon as they start to be motivated and mathematical competence with the points they are going to obtain and the points that they will be subtracted.
